Crianlarich is one of the most scenic
villages in Scotland. The Gaelic name 'Tigh-Na-Struith'
translates as 'house beside running water'. Although the
house is located within the Loch
Lomond and Trossachs National Park, an area
designated as being of outstanding natural beauty, it is
only one hour from Glasgow Airport.
Riverside Guest House has been offering bed and breakfast
accommodation for more than 60 years and has been run by
the present owners, Janice & Sandy Chisholm, since 1979.
Visitors are guaranteed to experience the very best in traditional
Scottish hospitality as well as superb views from every
bedroom window.
Crianlarich is mid-distance along the West
Highland Way footpath from Milngavie to Fort
William.
Stirling
Castle and the
Wallace Monument are approximately
one hour by car and are well worth a visit. The west coast
port of
Oban, also one hour by car, connects
to the islands via the
Calmac ferries. It is also possible
to travel from Crianlarich to Oban by train or bus.
Fort William is a further half hour
by car but the train journey via the
West Highland Line is one of the great
scenic train journeys in Europe and is highly recommended.
