Accommodation
The bedrooms in the house are on the first floor, all with colour TV for when it is too dark to look at the views. Each
room is named after the corresponding view from its window:
We presently have three bedrooms with en-suite facilities. Those bedrooms without en-suites have h&c washbasins. All the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, together with complimentary biscuits. All rooms are named after their views - Fillan, Ben Challum and Dochart look onto River Fillan and the glen Strathfillan; An Caisteal, Falloch and Ben More face the Crianlarich hill range.
Ben More, Fillan and An Caisteal rooms have two windows, each with a different view.
The corner of the house (in above picture) is of An Caisteal bedroom.
 Pets have always been welcome.With pathways within the large grounds and with direct access to the river and Strathfillan beyond, the location is virtually a "doggie heaven". The most unusual animal guest we encountered was a horse! - which had bed and breakfast in one of our fields. Together with his owner they were trekking from John`o`Groats to Lands End and were both very pleased to have found 'accommodation' with us on their epic journey.
Although we
don't provide an evening meal, there are a number of local
restaurants and pubs that serve food daily. However, we do
offer breakfast
with a view.
There is also a drying room for boots and clothing for when the sun doesn`t shine!
Tariff
Our tariff varies during the season and depends on whether a standard or ensuite room:
- Standard room - starts at £25 per person per night based on two people sharing a standard room, inclusive of a full Scottish breakfast. The rate increases to £27.50 per person from May to August, then £25 thereafter.
- En-suite room - when let as double/twins are £27.50 per person out of season, £30 per person otherwsie.
The rate charged for the en-suite family rooms will vary according to occupancy and time of year with children usually charged at half the adult rate. However, this will be negotiable depending upon numbers, age and length of stay.
Single room rate (including breakfast) is £35 early and late season, £40 May to August; and will be in either double or twin-bedded standard rooms, thus providing that "little extra space", so important when holidaying with luggage! We do not think it right to provide single occupancy in 'small' rooms. Special rates are available for minimum stays of three nights, usually in the order of a 10% discount.
We make a charge of £3 per pet to cover the extra costs of cleaning when sharing a bedroom.This charge will be waived if access to the house is not required.
If you have a special dietary request just let us know in advance and we will endeavor to please! Also, for all outdoor enthusiasts, a packed lunch can be arranged at a cost of £5 to include sandwiches, juice, a chocolate snack and fresh fruit.
Payment
Being a small operation, we find it uneconomical to accept credit cards, so would ask that payment be made either in cash or by cheque supported by a bankers card. Where payment is made by cheque, please make cheques payable to 'Riverside Guesthouse'. Thank you. |
